My Version Of Love
My version of love is kindness, care, concern and hope.My version of love exists without boundaries, or labels, and is selfless.
My version of love is to facilitate, create and support the growth of all beings.
My version of love is to observe, revel and be joyous when happiness blossoms in others.
My version of love is a smile, an embrace and being the sanctuary under which the weary may rest.
As I walk through this life I must remind myself, (and practice) what my heart’s version of love is. Life, she is never going to be perfect but as I look around, I see and hear such an abundance of mis-concepts over what love is, it is near blinding and deafening, and takes constant self restraint to not be overcome or seduced. Love and all of its complexities should not be reduced to this idea of being “in love”. It’s not about this falling head over heels foolishness. Love should make you strong, sturdy and confident. Love should not be deconstructed to fulfill a small segment of what love can accomplish. It is not to serve as the bartender to your whimsical urges to become bloated on the inflated high of being “in love”.
Love must be practiced, honed and cared for, not wielded as a weapon, given and taken with the moods of change. True love, love that is persistent and consistent is the hardest love to give but the most worthy to receive. We should practice love; in it’s purest form, with all of its complexities, devoid of self-serving expectations, outside of needs and wants. Perhaps fulfilling and cultivating the happiness of all beings around us is the key to uncovering the truest meaning of the “L” word. Let’s show love for the ones we know and the ones we will never meet, those whom we embrace and those wishing they had loving arms to fall into. Treasure is made preciously valuable by the eye of the beholder; learn to love yourself and everyone around you. Open your heart to love, in its truest form, and love will lift you up, hold your hand and walk beside you.
“The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings.” ~Buddha
